These parts were designed to match the original hole pattern. (The original parts were 3D scanned and compared to be sure the holes are as close as possible). The first thing to try is spinning the part 180 degrees. Many of these parts only fit on in one way and the hole patterns only have one correct orientation. If the holes, still don’t align, this could be because of the quality of the Skelly or Inferno itself. If the screws came out of the original connector at an angle, they will need to go back into the replacement part at the same angle.
These parts are designed to be TIGHT!!! Plastic has a small amount of stretch and this stretch is more prevalent when they are installed. Install the part(s) first and then you will have the extra leverage to twist them together. Don’t worry, you won’t break them. If you do, let me know please.
Remove the male replacement connector and loosen the 4 allen screws on the back that holds the tabs pieces. This will allow the tabs to raise a bit and give a bit more space to slide together.
Remove the male replacement connector and tighten the 4 allen screws on the back that holds the tabs pieces. If they are already as tight as possible (don't strip them by over tightening them!!!!) You can add some layers of duct tape or other material to the main surface of the replacement part (the large circle piece where the 8 screw heads are visible) to make it thicker. This will cause the tabs to lock in better.
These parts aren't indestructible, in fact I'd rather they break instead of your 12-foot friend. Please send me a message with a picture and I will help get your 12-foot friend mended again.
General Remarks: 3D Parts aren't perfect. There can be slight differences in dimension from batch to batch. As well as our Skelly/Inferno friends, not everyone is perfectly made.
